We are a high-standard amateur orchestra, rehearsing and performing in north-west London.
At present, we have around 50 regular members.
We come from diverse musical backgrounds: All are accomplished amateur players. A few are professional or semi-pro musicians and composers, perhaps in other non-orchestral areas of music, and some are music-college graduates. While others are dusting off their instruments years since they finished studying.
Some are recent graduates, others are retired (with all ages in between!). Most of us have day jobs (teachers, architects, tech, dentists, business owners, project managers, PHD students) and enjoy coming to the orchestra in our spare time.
Many members have been in the orchestra for many years – we are a close group who enjoy playing together and once people join they tend to stay as part of our musical community. Many members live nearby, while others travel some distance to be part of the orchestra. We also often welcome members living in London short term while visiting from abroad who want to join a friendly orchestra while they are here.
What we all have in common is that we are passionate about music and our orchestra.
