We are a friendly, sociable, full-size symphony orchestra with almost 70 players of all ages including loads of young professionals. We're based in West Hampstead, north west London which has excellent transport links so you don't need to be based in NW London. We're on the Jubilee line, Overground, Thameslink and loads of buses go our way.
This is now our 101st season. We're one of London's oldest amateur orchestras.
We play a huge range of music from Bach to Michael Torke.
Our next concert
Saturday 31 March 2012, “Pictures”
Works by Rachmaninov, Martinů and Mussorgsky.
St James's Church, Sherriff Rd, West Hampstead, NW8 7NE.
Please see our Music page for more information.
Vacancies February 2012
Strings: most urgently we need more double basses. We've only got two and they're very much outnumbered by the rest of the strings (there's rather a lot of us). We're happy to welcome more violas, and we could still squeeze in a couple more violins and cellos. We'd love to hear from any harps who would like to pay with an orchestra regularly.
Opportunities for wind and brass extras and deps in all sections.
